How We Restored a Bagged Porsche 911 on Work Meister Wheels Doing A Multi-Step Paint Correction & STEK Final Coat Ceramic Coating

Why This Porsche 911 Needed a Full Detail

When a high-end car like this bagged Porsche 911 shows off deep glossy paint paired with bold Work Meister wheels, any swirl marks, swirl-induced haze, or dullness can significantly impact its overall appearance. A simple wash just isn’t enough to restore show-car shine.

  • Over time, dust, dirt, road grime, and microscopic contaminants settle on paint and wheels — reducing gloss and clarity.
  • Without smoothing the paint and removing scratches, any protective coating will only lock in imperfections, making them more visible after curing.

That’s why we opted for a full interior & exterior detail, multi-step paint correction, followed by a professional ceramic coating application — to bring this 911 back to showroom quality and protect its finish for the future.

What Our Full Detail Process Included

1. Interior and Exterior Deep Clean

We started with a comprehensive cleaning:

  • Full interior wipe-down: vacuuming, compressed air, treatment of carpets, leather/plastic trim, windows, and door jambs.
  • Exterior wash to remove surface dirt, tar, brake dust on wheels (especially relevant for custom wheels like Work Meister), and grime from paintwork — setting the stage for safe paint correction.

2. Paint Decontamination & Surface Prep

Before polishing, we removed bonded contaminants that you can’t wash out — things like brake dust residue, oxidation, or embedded particles that dull the paint. This step ensures the surface is as clean and smooth as possible before polishing.

3. Multi-Step Paint Correction

Because this 911 is from 2005, it's paint is not perfect. This vehicle is built to be shown off, but not with paint like this. Since the paint is covered in imperfections, we performed a multi-step paint correction to:

  • Remove swirl marks, light scratches, haze, and minor paint imperfections.
  • Smooth the clear coat and restore depth, gloss, and clarity — creating a near “mirror finish” that reveals the paint’s true potential under proper lighting.

As multiple detailing experts note, doing paint correction before ceramic coating is critical: otherwise, any flaws will be sealed under the coating and become more visible over time.

4. Final Surface Prep & Inspection

After polishing, we wiped down the surface thoroughly to remove polishing oils, dust, or residue. Then we inspected the paint under strong light to confirm perfection before applying any coating. This guarantees a strong, even bond and the best final result.

5. Application of STEK Final Coat Ceramic Coating

With the paint corrected and prepped, we applied STEK Final Coat, a professional-grade ceramic coating designed for both painted surfaces and compatible with protective films.

Once the Porsche was done and in the sunlight it looked amazing from every angle. We love being able to see the true transformation after putting countless hours of work in.

Imagine driving down the highway and hearing that dreaded ping as a rock bounces off your freshly painted hood. That tiny chip? It's the beginning of a slow decline in your vehicle's appearance - unless it's protected. At K&N Detailing in Orlando, we apply Paint Protection Film (PPF) to vehicles that demand long-term preservation.
